The Adventures of
Sarah and Silas
SarahSilas
and how they left their home in the green GOValley to live in the Big Unknown.

Chapter I: How It All Began

When the GOValley started to disappear a bit at a time (it was like a giant hand slowly erasing their world), there was extreme consternation (that means they were very upset) uphill and downstream and all through the woodland. And it was unanimously agreed (something almost unheard of until this time) by the Gnome Council, the Fairie Board and all the wee woodland creatures, that they must find a new home... and quickly, before every single bit of their world disappeared. For no one was quite sure what would happen if an elf or a fairy or a Gnome should be standing in a spot when it vanished! Would they disappear, too? They all decided not to wait around to see.

And so it was that
Sarah Sarahthe BIG Basket Silas and Silas
loaded all their worldly possessions in the big brown basket, and the little red wagon little wagon and set out to find a new home in the Great Unknown.

Now, I don't know how familiar you are with Gnomes, but they are not easily pleased. Especially when it comes to their homes. and you will never, not ever, guess where they find a surprising little spot to make their new home.

In pages to come, the firefly will tell you of the adventures of Silas and Sarah, as they begin their new life beyond the vanishing Valley of GO.

"To my amazement I have heard that there are people who have never seen a gnome.
I can't help pitying these people. I am certain there must be something wrong with their eyesight."
